Ian Scholes, the Chair of the trustees, has been directly involved in the establishing of a food bank in his home town of Burnley and in its day-to-day operations.  An entrepreneur by trade, and with a vast history in property development, Ian has empowered, equipped and enabled numerous individuals and organisations to effectively reach out into their communities for the benefit of less fortunate people.

Mark Turley manages the Manchester team for Watson Moore, Manchester’s leading recruiter of Finance Directors. A graduate in Sport and Leisure Management, a lifelong football fan and long term supporter of the work of Street Socccer Academy, Mark came on board as a trustee in 2013 to assist in building corporate links between SSA and the local business community. Mark’s professional contacts and passion for the work of Street Soccer Academy are key components of assisting locally based companies invest in the work of the charity

Andrew Thorp – Chief Executive

David Wynd was previously a trustee of a city centre charity in Nottingham working in the night time economy especially around issues of alcohol abuse and homelessness. He also volunteered for a charity supporting those who find themselves on the edge of society. David has a wide array of IT based skills including website, app and graphic design which has proved key in the development of our website, referral system and client database. Previously our Greater Manchester Area Manager, David has recently relocated to the North East and  will look to establish SSA Regional Centres in the area to extend the reach of the charity.

Gavin Bell became a trustee for Street Soccer Academy in 2013. Gavin lives in London where he works as part of an internal consulting team for a global professional services organisation, having previously worked for a global management consulting company for 11 years.  Gavin’s focus with Street Soccer Academy is providing guidance and direction in the development of stakeholder engagement and an effective communication strategy.
